it was time...i love the curls, but it was time to clean up jack's permanent state of bed head with a trip to get his hair cut. we went to a place in chestnut hill specializing in kids cuts. they have all sorts of themed chairs, dvd player, etc...nothing was interesting to jack, who once the scissors came out the tears followed. the woman cutting his hair (who got tipped very well) remarked how strong he was as he thrashed about. we all survived the trip and the curls for the most part remained in tact.

fire trucks are fun, right?

Hi Jack,
Looks like your first haircut was an adventure for both you and mom - they didn't have those nice barber chairs when I was your age - just a wooden board across the arms of the regular barber chair.
Trust me - next time it will be easier. Oh - did you get a treat from the barber afterwards - we always received a piece of candy - but then I can see mommy rewarded with pizza.
Take care little guy - I miss you, love you, and can't wait to see you in 5-6 weeks. Have fun with Nana and Aunt Maureen this coming weekend in CT.
Love - Pop-Pop
